Hammer of Thor was formed in early 2006 on the streets of New York City (Wall Street to be specific) by five musical and cultural visionaries, who had become tired of the emasculated doldrums of the modern rock scene. H.o.T. had no choice, but to reintroduce the world to the excessive volume and lifestyle from a time long forgotten…

Knowing full well that the essence of rock is rooted in the decadence, chicanery, god-like parties, and cruising of mortal chicks that occurred routinely in Valhalla, the band felt compelled to pay tribute to the god of thunder in both name and spirit. Further, music critics have often likened their sound to Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer, which translates literally from Icelandic as “to crush and to grind”. It is clear that Thor would appreciate the foundation-shaking, ass-whooping music currently performed by H.o.T.
